The Classics

Discover a wide range of concert band repertoire at its best – from diverse classical transcriptions for band, to original modern-day and classic styles originally written for concert band

This special concert included familiar works by famous composers such as Brahms, Handel, Holst, and Wagner, and a variety of well-established contemporary classic composers. 

Prices: $10 Students; $20 Adults; Under 5 Free.

Tickets were available online at snapd Tix, from band members, ticket outlets, or at the door from 6:30 pm.

Orillia Summer Concert Series

Bring a lawn chair or blanket or choose a seat closer to the bandshell. Listen to some summertime repertoire, TV and movie soundtracks, and light rock tunes overlooking Lake Couchiching.

Please join us in our annual music tribute to the veterans of the Canadian Forces, and also those currently serving abroad or at home. Music will consist of anthems, military themes, and contemporary repertoire. 

This is a free concert sponsored by the Barrie Legion & Medals. An optional donation will collected at the door for the Barrie Food Bank. Thank you in advance for your support. 

Christmas at the Beach

This will be the 14th annual concert for the Wasaga Beach Ministerial Food Bank, thanks to the generous sponsorship of Waterside Retirement Lodge and Lighthouse Community Church.

This event promises to present favourites from past Christmas concerts and a preview of the next concert.  Admission is a donation to help support the food bank.

A Christmas Fantasy

Music helps to make the Christmas season special, and this annual concert is a traditional favourite. The band always provides exciting and new music that you don't want to miss!

Familiar and inviting melodies, joyous sing-a-long carols, and of course new arrangements
 that takes us away from the strictly traditional. Derived from movies, TV and literature, we will play “How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” “Polar Express,” “Huron Carol,” "A Charlie Brown Christmas," and "Highlights from Frozen," among others.  

Join the Barrie Concert Band as they celebrate the eve of their 150th anniversary. 
Prices: Adults $20/Students $10; Under 5 Free.

Tollendale Village

Tuesday, February 19, 2019 - 7:15-8:30 pm
Tollendale Village - The Meeting Place

This is the band's annual concert in the spacious concert hall at Tollendale Village retirement centre. The program will include a variety of classic, contemporary and popular arrangements. 

Parking is limited to Visitor Only spots, with additional parking at Gables Park located off Tollendal Mill @ Hurst Dr.  A freewill donation will be collected at the door. 

Last Night of the Proms

Saturday, March 2, 2019 - 7:30-9:30 pm

This is the band's first concert in conjunction with the wonderful King Edward Choir! The inspiration for this program is our own version of this beloved British Albert Hall tradition. Selections will include "Pomp and Circumstance No. 1," "Jerusalem," Vaughn Williams' "Folk Song Suite," and Holst's "Nimrod?".

Tickets will go on sale in January, and be available online in 2018.  

150 Years - Let's Celebrate!

The band will celebrate its 150th anniversary with a unique tribute to its past history and its place in Barrie and Simcoe County as one of Canada's oldest concert bands! 

Former conductors will share the baton with our current Music Director, Peter Voisey. Mark Tetrault, of international renown, will delight us with his tuba. Rick Pauzé will conduct the premiere of his composition specially commissioned for this occasion. 
An exciting program will consist of selections that showcase the band's evolution, and give tribute to its past and current members. Be on hand to witness the power of community concert band!

The Barrie Concert Band hosts community band members from all over Ontario. CBA weekends offer the opportunity to meet and play with talented musicians from many bands, led by several experienced conductors. It's a wonderful sight-reading workout filled with learning, camaraderie, and shared meals.

The Barrie Concert Band is excited to hold the Sunday afternoon concert outdoors at Meridian Place, the impressively redesigned public square located in the heart of the City of Barrie. 

BCB's Christmas Festival

The band will end its 150th anniversary on a special Christmas note that will shine a joyful holiday spirit live and bright. Stay tuned for more information about this concert to be provided in 2019.
