Originating from an important movement in the Tin Pan Alley era, when the best composers and musicians of its day met to make popular music, George Gershwin preceded modern composers as being the first to merge classical music with jazz. Under his approach, classical improvisation gave clear way to jazz nuances and techniques across the popular media for the first time.
No other composer has had as much influence in contemporizing music across all entertainment sectors as George Gershwin. The program will convey the amazing impact of his short lifetime to produce some of the most influential compositions and melodies of the 20th century that still set the tone to this day.
